For peace of mind at roofboxhirecolchester have accidental damage from fitting or removal of the roof box to £1 million public liability insurance. Please note that the contents of the roof box is not insured at any time during the hire period.

We trust our customers that hire from roofboxhirecolchester and believe we don’t need a deposit. All we ask for is the roof box to be returned in the condition we hired them out in.

Thule Wingbars, Thule Foot Pack and Adapter Kit

Time is precious, all customers have a pre booked fitting and removal time.

We understand your going to be busy getting ready to go away and time is precious, so that’s why at roofboxhirecolchester we arrange with all our customers an allotted time to have the roof box fitted/removed. On ‘fitting’ you should allow 30 to 45 minutes to fit and explain how to use the roof box. When returning please allow 30 minutes for removal/checking. We can fit/remove at your home or work address for an additional charge.

At roofboxhirecolchester we researched and reviewed all the roof bars currently available on the market. We narrowed them down and tested the Thule Wingbar range. These are smart looking lightweight aluminium aero wing design bars providing low noise and drag. A good bar to fit any of our roof boxes.

We use brands like Kamei and Thule roof boxes

When it comes to roof boxes we use the world renowned brands Thule from Sweden, KAMEi from Germany and Hapro from The Netherlands. All these manufacturers have won awards for design innovation and security. At roofboxhirecolchester we tested our Thule Pacific and KAMEi Husksy 510 each on a 40 mile road trip in 40mph to 50mph winds and rain along the Essex coast with no problems.

(That’s the bit that holds the roof bars to the roof).

Here at roofboxhirecolchester we will only fit the ‘adapter kit’ the manufacturers makes to fit your car and with the bars we use to the manufacturers fitting instructions.
